The Main Machines of Carbonated Soft Drink Production Plant
The raw water purification system uses a reverse osmosis membrane filtration system to remove impurities in the water and provide pure, colorless and odorless process water for syrup preparation. At the same time, RO water must be provided for the bottle washing machine and bottle warming machine.
FESTA improves carbonated beverage bottle manufacturing technology by optimizing the bottle blowing machine process (such as parameter settings for preform heating and bottle cooling) to ensure its pressure-bearing capacity while achieving lightweight preforms.
Carbonated beverage filling machine typically includes three functions: bottle washing, filling, and capping. It efficiently and smoothly fills the carbonated beverage into bottles. Utilizing European technology, the isobaric filling valve enables processes such as valve opening, CO2 charging, carbonated filling, valve closing, and CO2 venting. The beverage carbonation mixer, also known as the CO2 mixer, is the core equipment in a carbonated beverage production line. The effectiveness of beverage carbonation determines the flavor and taste of the final product. FESTA’s independently developed beverage carbonation mixer is suitable for producing various types of carbonated drinks and sparkling water. This machine features a rational structure, advanced processes, high mixing precision, thorough CO2 mixing, and user-friendly operation, with a gas volume of up to 3.8. The machine mainly consists of a deaeration system, mixing system, carbonation system, cooling system, storage system, and control cabinet.
Screw Chiller System
The chiller system is the engine of the entire carbonation system. By connect the chilled water tank with the heat exchanger, the CO2 mixer can reach an efficient low-temperature range, which can quickly cool the beverage syrup to the most suitable temperature for carbonation. Chiller system usually use water-cooled screw chiller units, which have good cooling effects and lower energy consumption and costs. We choose Taiwan Hanbell brand screw compressor to ensure the stability of the entire chiller system.

Bottle Warmer Tunnel
After low-temperature filling, CSD bottles need to be raised to room temperature through a bottle warming tunnel. This can prevent condensation water from adhering to the bottle body and affecting the subsequent labeling machine and packaging effects. The bottle warmer tunnel uses the principle of RO water circulation spray to increase the temperature of the bottles. Depending on the production line speed, you can choose a dual-temperature zone or three-temperature zone structure.
PET bottle carbonated drinks are usually packaged with PE film, while carbonated drinks in glass bottles and soda drinks in cans are packaged with tray+ film. FESTA can provide various forms of packaging equipment to meet the production needs of carbonated beverage filling lines.
Automatic palletizing machines are generally used in medium-to-high-speed beverage production lines. They can automatically stack packaged beverages neatly on pallets according to certain rules, and then use forklifts to transport them to the warehouse. Automatic palletizers can greatly reduce labor costs and increase safety.
The sugar dissolving system is the first step in the production of carbonated drinks. This system mixes white sugar with hot water of about 80℃, and evenly dissolves it under the stirring of the motor to make raw syrup, which is filtered and then pumped into the blending tank. If the customer does not have a hot water preparation system, we can provide a sugar melting system with electric heating function.
The blending & mixing tank is used to mix raw syrup with other additives, pigments, preservatives and RO water to prepare beverage syrup. The mixing tank has a built-in stainless steel mixing system, which can efficiently mix all raw materials. The double-layer insulation structure of the cylinder ensures that the beverage syrup will not be affected by the outside temperature after the beverage syrup is prepared.
Like the juice filling line, the carbonated beverage production line also needs to be equipped with CIP cleaning equipment. It can be used for online cleaning of sugar melting systems, beverage blending systems, piping systems, carbonated beverage filling machines, etc. Acid, alkali and RO water are usually used as cleaning media. FESTA can provide fully automatic CIP and semi-automatic CIP to choose from according to customer needs.

Optimizing The Preparation Process of Beverage Syrups
In the sugar melting stage, we use a combination of a large cooling tower and a plate heat exchanger to reduce the high-temperature raw syrup to ambient temperature through two cooling operations. This can keep the prepared beverage syrup at an ideal temperature, effectively reduce the load on the chiller system, greatly reduce energy consumption, improve production efficiency, and save costs.

The white sugar is melted in hot water and then cooled to room temperature twice, and then pumped into the blending tank to be mixed with other auxiliary materials. The evenly mixed beverage syrup is pumped into the CO2 mixer. The CO2 mixer cools the material to 1~3°C under the action of the screw chiller, and fully mixes it with food-grade pure carbon dioxide in the carbonization tank to prepare a qualified carbonated drink. The carbonated beverage filling machine uses an isobaric filling valve. It is necessary to establish an isobaric environment in the bottle before filling. The pressure in the bottle is the same as the pressure in the filling tank. At this time, opening the filling valve for filling can avoid foam generation.
